What Came First, the Chicken or the Egg?

As I am working through the editing process of my manuscript, I have had a great deal of time to contemplate the signs and symptoms of imbalance of not only the sex hormones, but also the adrenal glands and the thyroid gland. The fascinating thing is that so many of the symptoms are identical. The three legs of the “milk stool” are all very intimately interconnected. If one gets out of balance, it won’t be long till it shows up somewhere else. With identical symptoms, how in the world does one figure out which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Then this morning I read a very insightful response to one of my blog articles from Paul Blake. Paul said, “Some people like being sick. If you are not one of them, read on for some truth about thyroid disease.   Did you know that thyroid disease is really a very rare disease, and yet there is an epidemic of it (1 in 4 people) in America?  The truth is that an autoimmune disease such as Hashimoto’s or Graves disease probably (90%+) gave you your thyroid disease.

Autoimmune diseases are very interesting. There are approximately 80 to 100 at this time, with another 40 waiting for a name.   Medical science cannot explain why and has not found a cure for even one.   You can trigger one of them just by having an auto accident, taking aspirin or medicine, by starting a new exercise routine, or even stressing out, says the latest research.   Naturopathic medicine says, ‘Look for the root cause. The cause is in the basics: beginning with what is on your fork, what toxins are in your body, what exercise do you do, what stress is in your life, what is your spiritual base.’ Science has led us down the wrong path. We better stop and take a close look at what is happening. Every month an average of 150 new chemicals, which are part of the autoimmune problem, will be added to industry with no oversight control at all. Autoimmune disease is the worst kind of contradiction; for thyroid disease, your immune system is attacking you at your own thyroid, a world upside down.”

Paul added a PS: “Here is a challenge. On a piece of paper, write down as many diseases as you can think of, then put them as a search on Google one at a time and add the word ‘epidemic.’ You will see that almost all of them are. Is anyone in modern medicine awake?”

What came first, the chicken or the egg? It is very apparent: clearly, the root cause came first. Instead of running around attempting to figure out symptoms, we would be better served to figure out the root cause and eliminate that.

I immediately went to Paul’s web site and physically had to force myself to leave because of some imposing deadlines I am currently facing. However, I have bookmarked his site so that I can go back and review everything he has posted there. What an incredible story he has, and what incredible information. I would encourage all of us to go take a look: www.theherbprof.com.

Thank you, Paul, for taking the time to teach all of us what is really important, and what we can do to create vibrant, healthy living!
