Last night we ventured into a neat little area, Pier Point, with its beautiful pastel colored shops lining the street, nestled between the bright blue sky and ocean. The restaurants were bursting with laughter and conversation. Musicians, entertaining their patrons as well as those on the sidewalk, added to the gaiety. People frolicked happily along the walk, kids begged their parents to go on the carnival rides, and vendors provided refreshing ice cream on a warm summer night. Just beyond the shops, one could pause to take in a magnificent sunset.
Meandering down the street, my daughter excitedly exclaimed, “Look, a Peace Frogs!” What in the world is Peace Frogs? I had never heard of it. It didn’t take long to figure it out as we were all drawn to the items displayed in the store.
I was intrigued by the advertisement: “An infectious line of clothing and other fun stuff manufactured with mostly natural fibers, mostly in America for mostly people like you.” I was immediately drawn to a super soft tee shirt with three little frogs that said “Faith, Hope, and Love.”
“Infectious” is a good descriptive word…we left with tee shirts, jewelry, and other miscellaneous items all carrying the energy of peace and love. I didn’t realize that the frog is a Shaman peace icon and the Chinese symbol for happiness.
This morning I am reflecting on the Peace Frogs experience as I take in Section Five, “Self- Love,” in You Can Have It All, before my granddaughter awakens. The pages are filled with insights such as these:
“Once you have a taste of feeling love for yourself, your life will never be the same, for you will connect with who you really are. You will also connect with a hint of how powerful you really are.”
“It is important to remember that underneath all of the reasons we have for not loving ourselves resides our true self, our essence, which is pure love. This essence loves us deeply at all times and knows that all of the reasons we have for not loving ourselves are just a temporary exploration of life opposite to our natural state.”
“Who we really are is a powerful force that will not be denied.”
“Every relationship in our lives reflects our relationship with ourselves.”
Author Arnold M. Patent teaches in such a beautiful way that when we learn to feel love first for ourselves, then love naturally flows into everyone and everything else in our lives.
Mr. Patent and Peace Frogs teaching the world…
“Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.”
