I Will Greet This Day With Love in My Heart

Is your day running peachy…or might a little “attitude adjustment” be in order?

Today’s message from Higher Awareness suggests making a course correction…

“Little adjustments to our attitude and approach each day can create a major difference in our appreciation of life. On the surface, nothing changes. At the same time, absolutely everything does.

Use your awareness or your imagination to bring happiness to this moment. Find something to appreciate. Do this as often as you remember to do so, and your world will transform.”

The past two days I have been writing about Og Mandino’s book, The Greatest Secret in the World. Here are a few of Og Mandino’s suggestions for attitude realignment…

“I will greet this day with love in my heart.

And how will I do this? Henceforth will I look on all things with love and I will be born again. I will love the sun for it warms my bones; yet I will love the rain for it cleanses my spirit. I will love the light for it shows me the way; yet I will love the darkness for it shows me the stars. I will welcome happiness for it enlarges my heart; yet I will endure sadness for it opens my soul. I will acknowledge rewards for they are my due; yet I will welcome obstacles for they are my challenge.

I will greet this day with love in my heart.”

Translation?

Greet this day with love in your heart even if…

The super glue tube explodes on your hands while fixing the broken vase.

Your grandson calls 47 times while you are typing your overdue report.

The receptionist is rude and crass when you call for your lab work.

No matter what, it is all good. Love in your heart melts away any anxiety, fear, or heartache. No matter what is going on, today is a gift, a very special time on planet earth.

Sarah Ban Breathnach says it this way:

” …we can no longer afford to throw away even one ‘unimportant’ day by not noticing the wonder of it all. We have to be willing to discover and then appreciate the authentic moments of happiness available to all of us every day.”

Hmmm, I will greet this “unimportant” day with love in my heart.
