Does Pain Shine in Your Eyes?

Tags: , , ,

Yesterday I was introduced to a couple – recently married, second marriages for both of them. A conversation ensued between them. He has a huge collection of pristine original equipment from the 1950’s – holding onto a dream to do something with it once he retires. She, on the other hand, views the items as clutter and is pushing him to get rid of it.

The pain in his eyes shined so brightly – if only she could see it.

Ahh, the words of Bruce Springsteen wash through my consciousness…

I’m working on a dream,
Though sometimes it feels so far away.

I’m working on a dream
And how it will be mine someday.”

Working on a dream – don’t let anyone steal your dream – including you.

I attended a prosperity workshop this afternoon given by Marilyn Banks, www.pathsthatcross.com. Marilyn gave us a great take-away. She said when facing a decision, ask yourself, “Will I be disappointed in myself if I do it/don’t do it?” She emphasized, “You will not lie to yourself.”

Some additional points worth noting from the conference:

  • The only one to let you down is you.
  • Honor yourself and do what you want to do.
  • Ask yourself, “What do I want to do?”
  • Have a good relationship with yourself. Treat yourself the way you want others to treat you.
  • Be honest with yourself, be appreciative of yourself, honor yourself. Start with you
    and abide by it.
  • Love, honor, appreciate, and take care of yourself.
  • Be confident in you, in your abilities, in your being a woman, in your being a person.

What do you want to do? What makes your heart sing? What is your dream? Are you living your dream? If not, why not? What are you waiting for?

“On this day of your life, dear friend, I believe God wants you to know…

…that money is not the issue.

Having the courage to give your highest gift is the issue.

There is no security in doing something for a living when you are dying inside while doing it.

That is taking care of the body at the expense of the soul.

And a withering soul cannot help but produce a withering body.

So do not think you are “taking care of yourself” by killing your spirit to keep your body alive.

How long will you put off what you are dying to do?

Love, Your Friend….

~ Neale Donald Walsch

Hang on to that dream…let that be what shines brightly from your eyes.
